Ten developers of solar energy parks and representatives of the industry have established association Solar Energy For Latvia with a goal to promote development of a unified strategy for the renewable energy sector and an uninterrupted energy supply ecosystem.

The members of the association have resolved to promote public awareness of the sector, raise and solve different problem issues, setting engagement into the National Energy and Climate Plan as the priority. Also, the solar energy industry companies have resolved to develop a unified vision of the sector and represent it in the state and municipal institutions, in the work with the system’s operators and public organizations.

AJ Power Group executive director Krišjānis Baidekalns: “At the time when we see a rapid growth of the sector, it is important to develop energy strategy on the national level. The association unites developers of solar parks in order to provide proposals and the practical vision of the sector. Development of sustainable solar energy projects in Latvia is possible if there are predictable regulations ensured by policy makers and there is coordination among all stakeholders. The renewable resources will be the drive of Latvia’s energy sector and will promote our energy independence.”
