Aizkraukle BESS
In Q1 2025, a battery energy storage system (BESS) was commissioned – the first large-scale hybrid power plant connected to the Distribution Network in Latvia. The entire project, from design to construction, was carried out by the AJ Power Corporate Group, which also fully operates the BESS system.
The installation site was selected at an existing AJ Power Corporate Group solar power plant, where the required infrastructure had already been developed and prepared. All equipment was supplied by EU-certified, reliable manufacturers with extensive experience in similar projects across Europe.
The BESS is managed by the proprietary TRON energy management system, which ensures full control over electricity generation, trading, and balancing processes. With this project, the AJ Power Corporate Group has become the first company in the region to participate in the Baltic balancing market with a solution that integrates solar power plants with BESS, all operated through its in-house TRON EMS.
