Valmiera industrial solar farm

Attracting EUR 3.5 million in investments, the largest private energy group AJ Power has completed a large-scale renewable energy project, building industrial solar farm in Valmiera municipality. In the territory of Valmieras SES, 8,064 solar panels have been placed, and the generated green energy will be channeled into the power grid, ensuring power to more than 2,000 households. The industrial solar farm in Valmiera has been developed, following examples of the most modern and environmentally-friendly solar parks in Europe. It is one of the first agrivoltaic concept solar parks in Latvia, where next to the solar panel systems, sheep will pasture, and several beehives will be placed. Also, Valmieras SES will ensure official certificates for the origin of energy – the industry standard in Europe, which so far has not been common in Latvia.

Development of solar power plants in Latvia is just one of the energy project types AJ Power currently is developing in cooperation with alternative investment fund manager AJP Capital. This project not only promoted generation of renewable energy, but also ensures investing of local capital in the country’s energy development.
