Social responsibility

Honoring talented educators from across the country, the “Teacher of the Year 2025” awards were presented. The foundation of Latvia's growth is quality education and the professional contribution of teachers. During the award ceremony, special recognition was also given by the “AJ Power”. In the category "Technology Teacher," the award was received by Juris Erts, a teacher at Jānis Eglītis Preiļi State Gymnasium (JEPVĢ).

"Dod Pieci!" annually reminds us that the strength of society begins with the ability to notice and understand the needs of others, and this year the "AJ Power" continues to support this initiative. We often take the ability to move freely for granted, but for many children and young people, movement means a relentless struggle for independence, where regular rehabilitation is the only path to a full life. This year, the charity marathon raised 1,001,388 euros for rehabilitation sessions for children and young people with neurological movement disorders.

From July 18 to August 30, the Art Festival Cēsis took place in the city of Cēsis for the nineteenth time, becoming a nationally significant tradition and one of the most notable summer cultural events in the Vidzeme region. Each year, the festival program is designed to particularly highlight the creative activities of both Latvian and foreign artists, offering visitors a diverse range of music, visual, and theater art events throughout the summer. The "AJ Power" company group also supported the Art Festival Cēsis this year with satisfaction.

As Christmas approached, the "AJ Power Recycling" team visited the senior residents of the “Labāka rītdiena” social care centers to bring them joy with winter jackets collected in textile recycling bins. Over 130 warm jackets, carefully sorted and washed, were donated to residents of the “Sērmūkši,” “Mārsnēni,” “Esība,” and “Ziemeļblāzma” centers.

From September 3 to October 8, comprehensive national defense exercises "Namejs 2024" took place across Latvia. During the exercises, the readiness of national guards and soldiers was trained to perform national defense tasks and protect important country’s assets. “AJ Power” provided support for the exercises to the soldiers and national guards of the 2nd Vidzeme unit.

“AJ Power” supports the “Art Needs Space” foundation's project “Staprāns 100”, a series of events dedicated to the Latvian artist Raimonds Staprāns. The project's goal is to promote the artist's recognition, highlight his significance in Latvia's cultural history. To help develop professional art and creativity and implement a sustainable program with activities that will create lasting values and renew existing ones.

For the first time, the “Latvian Teacher of the Year 2024” awards were presented. Established by the University of Latvia, the award aims to honor talented and outstanding educators in Latvia, by showing the crucial role that teachers hold in the development of Latvian society. During the awards ceremony, ”AJ Power” also presented a special award. In the "Teacher of the Year in Technology" category, the award was given to Jānis Rudzītis from Liepāja West Coast Secondary School, highlighting his contribution to students' education and the development of their technological skills.

The outdoor 24-hour basketball competition took place for the 15th season as part of the Riga City Festival. Residents of Riga had the opportunity to participate in tournaments at the Esplanade with the aim of promoting basketball and a healthy lifestyle for all ages. “AJ Power” was part of this exciting event as a sponsor, by supporting healthy lifestyle and new accomplishments.
