AJ Power will provide 100% locally produced green energy to Eleport charging stations

To continue the path toward a sustainable and environmentally friendly future, the electric vehicle charging network developer “Eleport” will now offer its clients the opportunity to charge their vehicles using green electricity generated from renewable resources. In collaboration with the “AJ Power” group, all “Eleport” customers will be provided with 100% locally produced green energy sourced from local solar, wind, and hydroelectric power stations.

“Our goal is to promote the development of electromobility in Latvia and elsewhere in Europe, as well as to support local electricity producers and offer every electric vehicle user the option to choose energy generated from renewable and certified sources. The electricity supplied at charging stations will be produced at Latvian solar, wind, or hydroelectric power plants, thus offering 100% locally generated electricity. It is important to note that by choosing locally produced energy for EV charging, users not only support local green energy producers but also contribute to the Latvian economy as a whole,” emphasises Kārlis Mendziņš, Head of “Eleport” in Latvia.

Electricity generated from renewable resources significantly reduces CO₂ emissions, as the production of green energy does not result in CO₂ pollution. Interestingly, the projected CO₂ savings for “Eleport” over the course of this year—by choosing local and green energy—is estimated at approximately 649.49 tonnes. This amount of CO₂ can be compared to the emissions produced by driving around the border of Latvia 1,845 times in a car with an internal combustion engine.

“Our collaboration with the electric vehicle charging network developer "Eleport" will now make it possible to charge electric vehicles within the "Eleport" network using green electricity produced right here in Latvia. This means that green energy will become even more accessible to everyone, making everyday EV charging more environmentally friendly. Thanks to our cooperation with the largest green energy producers in Latvia and by offering internationally recognised guarantees of origin—which certify that the electricity is generated from renewable resources—more and more Latvian companies are now choosing green energy,” says Roberts Samtiņš, Head of the “AJ Power” group.

“Eleport” continues to work on solutions that will make the vehicle charging process even more environmentally friendly, faster, and more accessible. “We want to keep developing the charging infrastructure by providing high-quality and reliable charging solutions,” says Kārlis Mendziņš.

About "Eleport":

Founded in 2016, Eleport is currently developing an electric vehicle charging network and related software across the Baltics and Poland. With the support of companies such as Gren, Bolt, Scandium Energia, and the investment firm Ambient Sound Investments—founded by the co-founder of Skype—Eleport plans to invest €120 million over the coming years to expand its existing EV charging network in Central and Eastern European countries. Eleport takes pride in being one of the largest and fastest-growing companies in this sector in the Baltics and Poland, supplying electricity from renewable, EU-certified sources. Currently, the Eleport network in Latvia offers more than 100 charging points in locations such as Riga, Berģi, Jūrmala, Sigulda, Salacgrīva, Odzene, Ogre, and Melturi in the Cēsis municipality. Across the Baltics and Poland, the network includes more than 840 charging points.
